The role
As part of our BAS team, your responsibilities will align to your experience level, with support to progress and develop as a leader over time. You’ll be involved in:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and management reports
- Maintaining high‑quality electronic workpapers and improving templates and processes
- Using Xero, APS and Excel to deliver accurate, insightful client outcomes
- Identifying risks, trends and opportunities
- Working directly with clients in a solutions‑focused way
- Communicating and working closely with Directors and Managers
At Senior / Supervisor level, you will:
- Review and support the work of junior team members, and contribute to a positive team culture
- Actively develop your leadership skills and contribute to team performance
- Take on direct client relationship responsibilities
- Take ownership of engagements and identify additional service opportunities
About you
We’re open to candidates at different stages of their career, and we’ll tailor the role accordingly. You’ll likely bring:
- A Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent), majoring in Accounting
- 2–4+ years’ experience in a Chartered Accounting firm
- CA or CPA qualification (or actively working towards it)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and confidence communicating with clients and colleagues
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and critical thinking
- Initiative, sound judgement and a collaborative mindset
- Right to work in New Zealand
Experience with Xero is preferred.
