Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Beverage Manager to lead our bar operations in one of the region's most successful restaurants.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about exceptional service and innovative beverages.

About the Role

As our Beverage Manager, you will oversee every aspect of our beverage operation, including bar service, mixology, wine \& beverage listings, inventory control, financial performance, supplier relationships, staff leadership, and compliance with New Zealand liquor licensing legislation.

You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Owners to deliver an outstanding guest experience while being part of a positive and supportive workplace culture where staff can grow and succeed.

Remuneration \& Hours

Remuneration: $28.00–$33.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Hours: Full-time position with a minimum of 30 hours per week, as per the roster.

Availability: Applicants must be available to work late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.

What You'll Bring

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a fast paced, high end hospitality establishment with a minimum of three years in bar/beverage management.
  • Proven experience in mixology, cocktail development, and beverage menu development.
  • Strong staff management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent knowledge of wines, spirits, beers, cocktails, and beverage trends.
  • Sound financial acumen, including beverage cost control, inventory management, budgeting, and stock analysis.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and beverage purchasing.
  • A thorough understanding of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and responsible alcohol service.
  • A current New Zealand Manager's Certificate (or the ability to obtain one promptly).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on attitude with a willingness to support the wider Front of House team whenever required.
