Job Purpose

The Bar Manager leads the heart of Volto’s nightlife – the bar. This role is about more than pouring drinks; it’s about creating moments, setting the tone, and driving an atmosphere where guests feel the energy in every sip. The Bar Manager shapes the beverage experience, blending creativity, precision, and leadership to make Volto’s bar unforgettable.

Role Overview

As Bar Manager, you’ll be the curator of Volto’s beverage program, from classic cocktails with a twist to inventive new creations. You will mentor your team, train them in mixology and guest engagement, and make sure every drink tells a story. Behind the scenes, you’ll manage stock, ordering, and cost control, ensuring the bar runs smoothly without losing its spark.

Your collaboration with the kitchen and restaurant teams will ensure pairings are seamless, and your influence will help drive sales through confident upselling and genuine guest connections.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the bar team to deliver exceptional guest experiences every shift.
• Develop and update cocktail menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and trends.
• Train bartenders and barbacks in mixology, service standards, and guest engagement.
• Monitor and manage beverage costs, stock levels, and supplier relationships.
• Ensure bar cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager to design pairings and promotions.
• Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest feedback professionally, turning challenges into positive outcomes.
• Drive beverage sales through upselling, recommendations, and creative promotions.
• Maintain bar equipment, scheduling maintenance and repairs when needed.
• Foster a culture of professionalism, creativity, and accountability within the bar team.
• Support marketing and event initiatives with beverage concepts and activations.

The Bar Manager is a performer, a mentor, and a strategist. You bring charisma to the floor, confidence in leadership, and a deep knowledge of cocktails, wines, and spirits. You’re as comfortable training a bartender on technique as you are guiding a guest toward a premium experience. Your leadership ensures the bar is always the heartbeat of the night.

Qualifications \& Experience

• 5+ years of experience in bar management or senior bartender roles in high-energy venues.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, and mixology trends.
• Proven track record of leading teams and managing beverage costs.
• Formal bartending or mixology training (preferred).

Pay: From BD1,000.000 per month
