As part of our continued growth within the National Security and Defence sector, we are seeking an experienced Atlassian System Administrator to support and optimise enterprise-grade Jira and Confluence environments supporting critical business operations.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Atlassian System Administrator to join a collaborative and high-performing technology team supporting enterprise-scale Jira Data Centre and Confluence Data Centre platforms.

This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimisation, and support of Atlassian environments, while also contributing to platform engineering activities across Kubernetes and cloud-hosted infrastructure.

The successful candidate will bring strong Jira and Confluence administration experience, excellent troubleshooting capabilities, and exposure to modern cloud and DevOps practices. You will work closely with senior administrators, platform engineers, and delivery teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of business-critical collaboration platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Jira Data Centre and Confluence Data Centre platforms within a large-scale enterprise environment.

Manage workflows, permission schemes, screen configurations, issue types, custom fields, and automation rules.

Support Confluence governance, including space architecture, templates, permissions, macros, and content standards.

Provide Tier 2 support for platform issues, user requests, access management, and troubleshooting activities.

Assist with Atlassian platform upgrades, patching, maintenance, and performance optimisation.

Monitor and support Jira and Confluence workloads hosted on Azure AKS and AWS EKS environments.

Execute and monitor CI/CD deployment pipelines for application updates and configuration changes.

Support Kubernetes operations including monitoring pods, services, storage, and application health.

Assist with cloud-hosted storage and database services including Amazon EFS and Amazon RDS.

Collaborate with platform engineers, administrators, and stakeholders to improve platform capability and user experience.

What You'll Need

NV2 Australian Government Security Clearance.

2-4 years of hands-on Jira Data Centre and Confluence Data Centre administration experience.

Experience working within enterprise-scale or highly regulated environments.

Strong knowledge of Jira workflows, schemes, permissions, automation, and platform administration.

Experience supporting Atlassian platform upgrades and ongoing maintenance activities.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and user support capabilities.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively within Agile, DevOps, and collaborative delivery environments.

A proactive mindset with a strong focus on service reliability, governance, and continuous improvement.

Technical Skills

Strong administration experience across Jira Data Centre and Confluence Data Centre.
