940's Kitchen \& Cocktails is seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager who can provide strong operational leadership while helping us expand our special events and social media presence.
This is not strictly a desk or administrative position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable leading a busy restaurant shift, developing employees, interacting with guests, solving problems in real time, and maintaining consistent operating standards. The right candidate will also have the organizational and creative ability to coordinate special events and manage the restaurant's social media presence.
Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations
- Lead restaurant shifts and maintain smooth, consistent front-of-house operations
- Provide visible leadership during peak business periods
- Maintain high standards for hospitality, cleanliness, organization, presentation, and service
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and protect the overall guest experience
- Work closely with ownership, management, kitchen leadership, bartenders, servers, hosts, and support staff
- Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and effective shift deployment
- Identify operational problems and take responsibility for getting them corrected
- Support opening, closing, cash-handling, and other management procedures
- Help create a stable, professional workplace where employees know what is expected of them
Employee Development
- Train, coach, and develop employees rather than simply supervise them
- Provide clear expectations, constructive feedback, and appropriate accountability
- Recognize employees with leadership potential and help develop their skills
- Reinforce service standards and restaurant policies consistently
- Help build a culture of teamwork, reliability, professionalism, and mutual respect
- Address performance or behavioral problems promptly and professionally
Special Events
- Help develop and coordinate private parties, special dinners, live entertainment, holiday events, community events, and restaurant promotions
- Respond professionally to event inquiries and assist guests with planning
- Coordinate event details with management, kitchen, bar, and service staff
- Help develop event packages and promotional ideas that generate traffic and revenue
- Maintain an organized calendar of upcoming events and ensure that operational details are communicated to the entire team
Social Media \& Community Engagement
- Manage and maintain the restaurant's social media accounts
- Create and schedule engaging content highlighting food, cocktails, employees, events, promotions, and the restaurant experience
- Promote special events and restaurant activities consistently
- Respond appropriately to social media comments and messages
- Help maintain a consistent, professional brand voice
- Identify opportunities to strengthen 940's presence within the Denton community
What We're Looking For
The strongest candidate will have restaurant management experience and understand that successful restaurant leadership requires presence, consistency, judgment, and follow-through.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Previous restaurant management or strong restaurant supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees during busy shifts
- Strong guest-service and problem-solving skills
- Experience training and developing restaurant employees
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience coordinating private parties, restaurant events, promotions, or similar activities
- Working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant social platforms
- The ability to create basic social media content using tools such as Canva or similar applications
- Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions without constant supervision
- Availability to work the evenings, weekends, and holidays required in restaurant management
Experience with POS systems, scheduling, inventory management, restaurant cost controls, and local marketing is a plus.
The Person We're Looking For
We are not looking for someone who simply wants the title of manager. We want someone who takes ownership of the restaurant while they are on duty.
You should be the person who notices when a guest has been waiting too long, an employee needs coaching, a table isn't being properly maintained, an event detail has been overlooked, or the restaurant is beginning to lose its rhythm, and then does something about it.
At the same time, you should enjoy developing people, creating memorable guest experiences, promoting the restaurant, and helping turn special events into reasons for guests to return.
If you are an experienced restaurant professional who combines operational discipline with hospitality, creativity, and initiative, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay: $35,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year
Benefits:
Work Location: In person
