Assistant Engineering Manager
Job Description Summary
Overall Role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager to join our team for Client’s corporate offices in Taiwan. In this position, you will be reporting to country manager for supervising all technical aspects of the space infrastructures and lead a technician. Your major objective will be to ensure all activities carried out within the space that must comply with local statutory regulations and client-stipulated engineering playbook. Additionally, you will lead improvement initiatives, oversee on-site operations and collaborate with vendor partners. The role overseas the execution of the day-to-day technical requirements to support the Workplace team and our vendor partners, ensuring compliance to statutory regulations and service level agreement (SLA).
A key aspect of this role is to work hand in hand with other service partners such as Security and Technology with Landlords as relevant, to deliver on consistency of service to Occupants and Guests.
What this job involves
Managing all Engineering/technical service contracts, including inspections and quality management of service delivery.
Developing and implementing building procedures and performance measures to ensure simplification and accuracy of work methods and reliability of systems
Ensuring an adequate supply of materials and service for the proper operation of the buildings and enter into supply and service contracts as approved by the client
Assisting with the preparations of strategic plans, budgets, and client reports, including financial reconciliation for service contract accounts.
Preparation of tender documentation; evaluation of tenders; preparation of contracts as defined by the main agreement.
Ensure the implementation and management of Risk \& Safety work practices to mitigate the risk of services interruption to client’s operation.
Co-ordinate with Building Managers \& the Business Units on Project issues.
Develop and implement innovative programmes and processes that reduce the utility costs, increase productivity and increase the savings.
Co-ordinate with Building operation teams in setting up and sustaining the best maintenance standards and practices
Manage a programme of inspections for the property on Energy conservation, Maintenance practices, Utility management and Risk management procedures
Implement and oversee the pre-emptive maintenance programme to reduce the risk of sudden failures of critical equipment
Develops and trains engineering SOPs/EOPs for employees for staffs.
Conduct regular audits on process to ensure the procedures are being followed and adhered with by the FM staffs.
Ensure all safety procedures, including Crisis Management/ Business Continuity and Emergency Procedures are maintained at all times.
Ensure all works are compliance with statutory regulations on fire, health and safety standards.
Ensure that service delivery teams and on-site contractors undergo a Health and Safety Induction prior to deployment
Maintenance of as-fitted drawing and O\&M manual
Management and supervision of the project
Management of project handover from third parties
Assist to complete audits on engineering systems and services
Establishment and implementation of engineering budgets
Chair Colo-data center monthly meetings
Management of Colo-data center operations
Organize power downs event / ad hoc MEP services suspension event
Communicate with the BMO/ Landlords for building issues for site’s operations and interests
24 x 7 emergency call support and site attendance as required
Preparing incident reports
Assist monthly FM report
Able to travel to all sites in Taiwan.

Desired experience and technical skills
Required
University degree or equivalent professional qualification in engineering field
At least 5 years practical working experience in Facilities Management and technical management role. Data center facility operation management experience is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good in English (verbal and writing)
Familiar with local engineering practice, governmental regulations and statutory requirements. Broad understanding of critical systems infrastructure, technology needs and requirements, commercial construction industry practices, maintenance contracts, and budget/schedule management.
Highly motivated. Proactive \& innovative, displaying the drive and energy required to meet the continuous challenges this role will present. Excellent inter-personal, people management and business skills, together with a strong desire to lead by example and firm belief in the power of teamwork.
Strong client service and relationship management skills, with the ability to challenge and influence senior business leaders while being co-operative and collaborative in style.
Knowledge of Occupational Safety requirements
Strong PC literacy and able to manage daily activities using various systems, such as BMS, and other
computerized control/monitoring system
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of people
