Assistant Director of Convention & Events

People Support the Director in managing the Convention \& Events team, ensuring a positive and productive work environment * Supervise daily operations, assign tasks, and ensure adequate staffing levels * Coach and develop team members through training, feedback, and performance reviews * Ensure team compliance with IHG standards, procedures, and service delivery* * Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless event execution

Financial Assist in preparing forecasts, budgets, and financial plans * Monitor sales performance, revenue, and productivity metrics * Support in negotiating rates within established booking guidelines * Identify opportunities to maximize revenue and control costs*

Guest Experience Act as a key contact for clients, ensuring a smooth and memorable event journey * Support in building and maintaining strong relationships with planners and clients * Assist with pre-event planning, ensuring all details (setup, flow, menu, logistics) are optimized * Coordinate event details including room setup, staging, and timing * Participate in pre-event and post-event meetings to ensure service excellence * Support daily client interaction during events, ensuring satisfaction and handling any issues promptly * Assist in analysing guest feedback and satisfaction surveys* to improve service

Responsible Business Support initiatives that enhance the hotel’s reputation and brand presence locally * Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sustainability standards* * Promote environmentally responsible practices during events * Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs
