Expected Salary Range: $90810 - $113512 Annually
Target Variable Performance Pay: 8%

The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. Reporting to the Manager, Energy Centre Operations (Control Centre), the Asset Investment Analyst is responsible for assisting with and delivering upon projects, including short- and long-term strategies, solutions for the modernization of Toronto Hydro’s distribution grid and integrating Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). The incumbent is responsible for supporting the execution of Toronto Hydro's Distribution System Operator (DSO) roadmap which also involves the implementation of a Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) and a Local Flexibility Market (LFM) software platform.
The Energy Centre Operations team supports various key strategic projects within the department that require strong collaboration and effective communication with stakeholders across the organization. The Asset Investment Analyst will play a key role in supporting these strategic change initiatives within the Control Centre. In addition, the Asset Investment Analyst will be responsible for data management, data analytics and business process improvements related to Energy Centre Operations and the Control Centre.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides project management support related to the execution of the DSO roadmap by leading working groups across business units to drive business process improvements and system implementation initiatives
- Participate in projects related to electricity market design and developing flexibility services
- Conducts analysis involving large data sets and multiple variables in response to data needs for operations purposes
- Develop process maps, workflow visualizations and dashboards to support strategic decision making
- Maintains and further develops databases or decision support tools and systems
- Performs trend analyses of equipment data and determines appropriate actions to improve and optimize grid operations
- Provide timely technical support and consultation, demonstrate effective project management and process efficiencies; review, develop and/or present business proposals, plans, designs, processes, operational procedures and practices
- Stays current with industry developments and practices, specifically those within grid modernization, distribution automation, innovation and the future energy system
- Investigate and evaluate the application of new software and tools
- Provides project and administrative support for the achievement of departmental objectives and other initiatives being carried on within the Energy Centre Operations team
- Works in accordance with safety performance standards and promotes a safety culture
REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred), Computer Science, or related discipline
- Minimum Three (3) years of relevant experience
- Experience in data mining including programming, process optimization, analysis for business projects, identification of areas for improvement and development of new initiatives
- Understanding of Ontario's electricity system, distributed energy resources and utility experience preferred
- Specific knowledge in power systems, electrical distribution, and computer applications considered an asset
- Familiar with operating technologies such as Network Management System, DERMS, SCADA, PI, OUA
- Knowledge of control room workflow and utility work protection code considered an asset
- Experience with Python/R, Alteryx, SQL and Tableau (preferably in a utility environment)
- Solid understanding of relational database systems, possess the ability to transform raw data in different formats into various analytical reports
- Strong project management skills (project management designation is considered an asset)
- Builds strong relationships and manages stakeholders across the organization to enable effective delivery of projects
- Demonstrated leadership skills; strategic thinking, openness to new ideas, and strong communication skills
- Fully proficient in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access, Project and Visio
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven effective problem-solving and analytical ability
- Excellent analytical, technical, and business solution development skills, including the proven ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
