Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsman with Certified Life Safety expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing precise architectural drawings and ensuring compliance with life safety regulations, fire codes, and relevant authority requirements. This role requires close coordination with architects, life safety engineers, and project teams to deliver high-quality and compliant design documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings, shop drawings, layouts, and plans using AutoCAD, Revit, or related software.
- Develop 2D and 3D drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and as-built drawings.
- Incorporate life safety requirements into architectural drawings, including fire escape routes, emergency exits, fire-rated assemblies, and occupancy classifications.
- Ensure all drawings comply with applicable building codes, life safety codes (NFPA), and local authority regulations (QCDD, Civil Defense, etc.).
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and life safety engineers to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
- Review and update drawings based on design changes, authority comments, and project requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation, drawing registers, and revision controls.
- Assist in preparing authority submission drawings and technical documentation related to life safety approvals.
- Support design presentations and project documentation as required.
Qualifications \& Skills:
- Diploma or Degree in Architectural Drafting, Architecture, or a related field.
- Certified in Life Safety / Fire \& Life Safety (mandatory).
- Proven experience as an Architectural Draftsman (7–10 years), preferably in the GCC.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or other BIM tools is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of construction drawings, detailing, and building systems.
- Good knowledge of NFPA standards, life safety codes, and local authority requirements (QCDD preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
