Position Type: Full-time with Contract

Job Description Summary
Looking for a highly skilled, self-reliant, and safety-driven FAA A\&P Mechanic with Inspection Authorization (IA) to manage, maintain, and oversee all maintenance activities for a US-registered ICON A5 amphibious aircraft permanently based in the Maldives.
Because this aircraft operates in a pristine but highly corrosive saltwater marine environment, the ideal candidate must possess specialized expertise in Rotax fuel-injected engines, advanced composite airframes, and seaplane corrosion prevention. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring 100% regulatory compliance under both FAA (14 CFR Part 91/65) and local Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) framework validations, including executing both 100-hour and Annual inspections.
Key Responsibilities
· Inspections \& Sign-offs: Perform and legally sign off on all scheduled maintenance, including mandatory 100-hour inspections and FAA Annual inspections for N807BA.
· Preventative \& Corrective Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the Rotax 912 iS engine, electrical systems, avionics, landing gear retraction mechanisms, and hull bilge systems.
· Composite Care: Monitor and perform minor repairs on the carbon fiber airframe structure according to ICON Aircraft structural repair manuals.
· Corrosion Mitigation: Implement an aggressive daily freshwater washdown and anti-corrosion treatment protocol essential for saltwater amphibious operations.
· Regulatory \& Technical Records: Maintain flawless aircraft logbooks in strict accordance with FAA regulations. Monitor, track, and comply with all FAA Airworthiness Directives (ADs), ICON Service Bulletins (SBs), and safety alerts.
· Inventory \& Logistics: Manage a local inventory of critical spare parts, specialized fluids, and tooling, coordinating with international suppliers for timely shipping to the Maldives.
Position Requirements1. Licensing \& Certifications (Strictly Mandatory)
· FAA Mechanic Certificate with active Airframe and Powerplant (A\&P) ratings.

· Compliance with FAA currency requirements per 14 CFR § 65.83.
2. Technical Experience \& Preferences
· Rotax Engine Certification: Documented completion of Rotax 912 iS (fuel-injected) Line and Heavy Maintenance training courses is highly preferred.
· Composite Materials Experience: Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining advanced composite/carbon fiber structures.
· Amphibious/Seaplane Familiarity: Previous experience maintaining seaplanes, flying boats, or amphibious aircraft operating in saltwater environments is a distinct advantage but not a must.
· Glass Cockpit Experience: Familiarity with lightweight integrated avionics (e.g., Garmin G3X Touch systems).
3. General \& Logistical Requirements
· Ability to work independently as a solo mechanic in a remote island environment.
· Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) for technical logbook entries and regulatory correspondence.
4. The Successful Candidate gets:
· A Competitive salary for local contract standards.
