As an Administrator in the Critical Care Department (CCD), you will provide high-level administrative and coordination support to the Clinical Director, Clinical Nurse Manager, and wider CCD team. This is a busy and dynamic role where you will manage rosters, coordinate meetings, prepare documentation, and ensure the smooth running of administrative systems that underpin critical care services.

You will be at the centre of CCD operations, working closely with clinicians and stakeholders across the hospital. Your ability to multitask, prioritise, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality will be key. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to a team delivering complex and urgent patient care.

Our CCD team provides specialist care for critically ill patients across Te Tai Tokerau, working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Based at Whangārei Hospital, youll be part of a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality, equitable care to our community.

About you

As an experienced Administrator, you will bring strong organisational skills, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a demanding environment. You will also have:

  • Proven experience in a senior administrative or PA role, ideally within a healthcare or large organisation
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with confidence preparing reports, documents, and presentations
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • High level of discretion, accuracy, and attention to detail in a confidential environment
