Manages an organization's financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance with laws, and fiscal efficiency. Key responsibilities include reconciling bank statements, preparing tax returns, auditing financial data, managing payroll, and producing reports that guide business decisions. They maintain the accuracy of all financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities \& Duties
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present accurate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and monthly/annual financial reports.
- Compliance \& Tax: Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with all legal regulations and financial policies.
- Reconciliation \& Auditing: Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, petty cash, and bank statements to ensure accuracy.
- Budgeting \& Forecasting: Assist in preparing budget forecasts and financial projections to support company growth.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate financial records, conduct database backups, and ensure data confidentiality.
Required Qualifications \& Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as an accountant, often requiring 2+ years in corporate or public accounting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and integrity.
