Within Oliver Wyman, the Data \& Analytics (DNA) division was established in 2017 and operates globally, with a particular focus on Europe. We are a dynamic and rapidly growing team of quantitative analytics specialists, collaborating closely with colleagues across the firm. Our work spans multiple industries, including Financial Services, Climate \& Sustainability, Energy, Retail, and Transportation.

What you will do

As a member of Oliver Wyman’s Data \& Analytics team, you will help clients make better decisions on some of their most important business challenges. You will combine analytical thinking, business understanding, and technical expertise to develop solutions that are both rigorous and practical.

You will contribute throughout the project lifecycle: structuring the client’s problem, identifying the decisions that analysis needs to support, assessing the available data, and selecting an appropriate analytical approach. You will conduct analyses, build and validate models or tools, and translate the results into clear recommendations. As you develop, you will take increasing ownership of analytical modules and engage directly with clients and senior colleagues.

You will also be an active member of the project team: sharing your ideas, discussing results with colleagues and clients, and helping turn analytical findings into meaningful recommendations and impact.

Examples of the work you could contribute to include:

• Building an AI toolkit to predict credit rating downgrades from news articles .
• Modeling portfolio decarbonization strategies for European banks.
• Optimizing promotions for an Asian health \& beauty chain using advanced analytics.
• Validating a customer-facing GenAI chatbot for a bank.
• Designing credit risk models in Python for banks in Europe.
• Identifying supply chain risks using live data and AI .

Who can apply?

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering), with a strong academic track record.
• A data-driven mindset and proficiency with numbers, paired with the ability to explain sophisticated data science concepts in an understandable manner to clients and colleagues.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, either Python or R, combined with an eagerness to continuously expand your knowledge of technologies and analytical methods.
• Strong commitment to teamwork and resilience in a creative, dynamic, and constantly changing environment.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with clients as required.
• Language skills: business fluency in German and English.
• Interest in or experience with financial services and risk management is a plus.
