The District of Sooke Fire Department is seeking qualified members to fill Paid On Call Firefighter positions. This opportunity has been established to meet current operational needs.
The rate of pay range for Paid On Call Firefighter positions is $20.64 - $44.24 per hour.
There will be a Paid On Call Firefighter Recruitment Session at 7:00pm on Wednesday, August 26, held at Fire Station 1, 2225 Otter Point Road

Position Summary: Reporting to the Fire Chief, through the chain of command the Paid on Call Firefighter is responsible for combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires and the saving of life and property. The position of the Paid on Call Firefighter is a multifaceted position requiring a flexible and organized approach. All Paid on Call Firefighters will be trained in and perform all aspects of fire suppression, rescue, hazardous materials response, prevention, and inspection duties. The Paid on Call Firefighter will participate in training as required by the Department training program.
