JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: PART-TIME POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION
The Institute of Seismology and Volcanology, Faculty of Science, Hokkaido University, invites
applicants for the following Part-time Postdoctoral Fellow position.

The applicant must have a doctoral degree on the date of appointment
From the earliest possible date after October 1, 2026
From the starting date (on or after October 1, 2026) through March 31, 2027
Renewal of the contract may be possible. It will be determined at the end of the contract
period based on factors such as workload, work performance, and the availability of funds.
The total period of employment may not exceed three years from the initial date of
appointment.

In accordance with the Hokkaido University Work Regulations for Part-Time Employees
(1) Hourly wage: JPY 3,800
(2) Allowances: Commuting and overtime allowances are provided in accordance with
the university regulations.
(1) Working days: Monday through Friday
(2) Fixed working hours system: standard 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
(3) Break: None
(4) Overtime: Applicable
(5) Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays prescribed by Japanese law,
December 29 through January 3, and other days designated by the university

Expenses related to research, such as travel and publication fees, may be provided in
accordance with university regulations. For reference, approximately JPY 270,000 was
