Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Urban & Rural Planning, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience in database management, data entry, or related roles.
Proficiency in SQL, MS Access, Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookup Functions, etc.), and other database management tools.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SPSS is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C) is a plus.

In Bangladesh, Acted started its activities in 2017 in order to respond to the Rohingya Refugee Crisis in the sectors of Site Management, Natural Resource Management, Community Protection, Information Management, Drain Monitoring & Intervention, SuLMER, Emergency Preparedness Response and CDCS in the Camps of the Kutupalong-Balukhali Expansion Site, Cox’s Bazar.
Key roles and responsibilities
Data Entry and Management
Perform accurate and timely data entry from paper forms, digital tools, or other sources into the database systems.
Conduct regular data quality checks to identify and resolve errors, inconsistencies, or missing data.
Maintain up-to-date records in centralized databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
Assist in archiving and backing up database files securely.
Generate error-free datasets for analysis and reporting as required by the MEAL team.
Database Maintenance and Support
Support the Database/Information Management Officer in maintaining and upgrading existing databases, including MEAL frameworks.
Implement data quality assurance protocols, including data validation, cleaning, and audit procedures.
Assist in troubleshooting database issues and provide technical support to end-users.
Ensure proper database security measures, including user access management and backup processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Conduct basic descriptive analysis of project datasets to identify trends and key insights.
Assist in developing data visualizations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.
Contribute to the preparation of regular data reports and factsheets for internal and external audiences.
Capacity Building and Coordination
Participate in training sessions on data management tools and best practices.
Assist in developing and maintaining guidance notes, SOPs, and training materials for data management.
Coordinate with MEAL Officers and project teams to understand data needs and schedules.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide regular updates on progress and flag challenges to the Database/Information Management Officer.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
