5 years of experience in product development, particularly in the creation of craft items using jute, bamboo, wood, hand stitching, and hand painting techniques.

Understanding and appreciation of cultural nuances and preferences within the Rohingya and Cox's Bazar host communities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience collaborating with local artisans and communities in crafting initiatives.
Familiarity with sustainable practices in craft production.
Knowledge of marketing or distribution channels for crafted products within refugee and local community contexts
Job Summary
PROTTYASHI, a social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment with an aim to ensure everyone to live with dignity and prosperity. PROTTYASHI reaches the community with basic needs and supports to save lives and facilitate all the people of the community to live with equal value and priority. PROTTYASHI works for the disadvantaged portion of the population in community addressing their pressing needs following the strategies contextually viable and environmentally sustainable. PROTTYASHI has been actively supporting the refugee population in the humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar as one of the first responders since August 2017. PROTTYASHI has been vigilantly supporting these crises affected population to accomplish its promised commitment towards humanity and people in distress.
To ensure improved food security for the refugee population helping them to meet nutritional requirement in an environmentally sustainable manner, PROTTYASHI is going to implement “Green skills Development” Activity of WFP Cox’s Bazar Resilience Programme in selected refugee camps. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Coordinator (Upcycling Product Development) for the Project and encourages the persons enthusiastic to contribute to the increased resilience of the humanitarian crisis affected refugee population in Bangladesh. This position will be leading the Upcycling initiatives of the project ensuring innovative product design and quality product making with the aluminium wrappers leading the project to promote environmental sustainability in the refugee camps.
Reporting
Coordinator (Upcycling Product Development) will report to Project Manager. S/He has to maintainfunctional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement innovative strategies to transform WFP aluminum wrappers into marketable and reusable items, enhancing livelihoods for Rohingya refugees.
Work closely with the technical team to guide participants in product design and innovation.
Collaborate with local artisans, designers, and craftspeople to conceptualize and produce high-quality, culturally relevant craft items.
Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring designs are feasible, cost-effective, and align with cultural sensitivities.
Oversee the setup and day-to-day operations of the upcycling center to ensure efficient waste recycling.
Ensure proper collection, sorting, washing, drying, compressing, and recycling of WFP aluminum wrappers into reusable items.
Coordinate with community volunteers for the collection of aluminum wrappers from WFP nutrition products.
Oversee quality control measures to ensure upcycled products meet market standards and are suitable for distribution.
Facilitate training sessions to enhance beneficiaries' skills in waste recycling, craftsmanship, and product development.
Track beneficiary participation, production outputs, and the overall impact of the upcycling initiative.
Research market trends and conduct needs assessments within refugee and host communities to identify opportunities for upcycled products.
Analyze demand for eco-friendly and recycled products to guide product design and innovation.
Identify potential markets, buyers, and distribution channels to ensure sustainability of the intervention.
Collect feedback from target communities to iteratively improve product designs and meet evolving needs.
Ensure the initiative contributes to solid waste management by reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices.
Coordinate with project teams, stakeholders, and humanitarian partners to align the initiative with broader environmental and livelihood goals.
Prepare reports on project progress, challenges, and achievements.

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 104,657 BDT with contributory provident fund 5,343BDT, monthly bonus 10,000BDT and regular traveling and communication bill.
