At least 3 years of experience in agricultural development, homestead gardening, aquaculture, or agroforestry.
Experience in training and capacity-building activities related to agriculture.
Knowledge of sustainable farming techniques, integrated aquaculture, and organic vegetable cultivation.
Strong coordination and networking skills with government and non-government stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
Willingness to work in challenging field conditions in Bhasan Char.
Work experience at Bhasan Char will be highly preferable.

Introduction
PROTTYASHI is implementing an agricultural development intervention in Bhasan Char to enhance food security and livelihood opportunities for Rohingya refugees. The intervention aims to integrate sustainable agricultural practices, agroforestry, aquaculture, and homestead gardening to maximize production within limited land resources. The Agriculture Technical Expert will be responsible for overseeing the technical implementation, training, and monitoring of agricultural interventions.
Purpose of the Position
The Agriculture Technical Expert will lead the technical aspects of homestead gardening, integrated aquaculture, and agroforestry interventions. The expert will be responsible for training beneficiaries, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring project compliance, and facilitating sustainable agricultural practices to enhance livelihood opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
A. Technical Support and Implementation
Conduct field monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure effective implementation of agricultural interventions.
Develop module and IEC, BCC materials on homestead gardening, agroforestry and aquaculture.
Implement and manage homestead gardening, agroforestry, and aquaculture programs in Bhasan Char.
Provide technical expertise on livestock and fisheries management, integrated farming systems, and organic vegetable gardening.
Facilitate the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices to improve food security and income generation.
B. Training and Capacity Building
Conduct technical training sessions for selected beneficiaries on agriculture, homestead gardening, and aquaculture.
Facilitate on-farm technical skills training for Rohingya refugee households across selected livelihood trades, such as fish cultivation, duck rearing, homestead gardening, agroforestry and vermicompost.
C. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders, to ensure smooth project implementation.
Work closely with the project team to identify challenges and develop solutions for improved agricultural productivity.
Support livelihood counseling sessions to select trades that align with employment opportunities and home-based business development in Bhasan Char.
D. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on project progress, challenges, and impact.
Ensure compliance with project objectives, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
Utilize Microsoft Office for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of the training sessions and ensure the timely completion of the training.
E. Community Engagement and Sustainable Practices
Facilitate community engagement activities to enhance participation in agricultural programs.
Promote climate-smart agriculture, organic farming, and resource-efficient production techniques.
Assist in the integration of agroforestry methods to optimize land use and maximize productivity.

Monthly progress reports on project activities and training sessions.
Documentation of best practices and success stories from the project.
Regular monitoring reports on beneficiary participation and project impact.
Final project evaluation report with recommendations for sustainability.
