Education
  • Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Engineering in Civil Engineering
Experience
  • At least 5 years
Additional Requirements
  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Training or Training Management

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities & Context

The Sandbox Project will create opportunities for skilled workers to enter Singapore's labor market, contributing to remittance growth, workforce development, and Bangladesh’s global reputation as a source of skilled labor.

BRAC's Skills Development Programme (SDP) is in the process of implementing a 12-month pilot project, “Sandbox Project,” designed to train and place skilled workers from Bangladesh in Singapore. This project supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by enabling decent work and economic growth. The strategy and actions of the Sandbox Project are also aligned with the Government’s Vision 2041, which emphasizes building a globally competitive workforce and expanding international employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers.

Major Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical and practical sessions on precast component production, handling, transportation, and installation, demonstrating the use of molds, reinforcement, and curing techniques.

  • Train participants to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications related to precast structures.       

  • Deliver training based on the curriculum provided by the Centre Lead, integrating modern techniques and tools used in the precast industry.

  • Educate trainees on safety protocols for handling heavy precast elements, using lifting equipment, and working at heights, ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.

  • Monitor and evaluate trainee progress through assignments, tests, and live demonstrations, providing constructive feedback to improve their skills.

  • Oversee the maintenance of molds, machinery, and equipment, ensuring the availability of necessary materials like concrete, reinforcement, and curing agents.

  • Maintain trainee attendance and performance records, submitting periodic reports and recommendations for improvements to the Centre Lead.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
