The Sandbox Project will create opportunities for skilled workers to enter Singapore's labor market, contributing to remittance growth, workforce development, and Bangladesh’s global reputation as a source of skilled labor.
BRAC's Skills Development Programme (SDP) is in the process of implementing a 12-month pilot project, “Sandbox Project,” designed to train and place skilled workers from Bangladesh in Singapore. This project supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by enabling decent work and economic growth. The strategy and actions of the Sandbox Project are also aligned with the Government’s Vision 2041, which emphasizes building a globally competitive workforce and expanding international employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers.
Major Responsibilities
Conduct classroom and hands-on sessions on aluminum formwork, including installation, dismantling, and maintenance, while demonstrating proper use of tools and interpreting technical drawings.
Deliver training modules developed by the Centre Lead, incorporating modern construction techniques and technologies.
Enforce Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards, focusing on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and safe practices in formwork operations.
Monitor and assess trainee performance through structured evaluations and provide personalized feedback to enhance skills.
Maintain training equipment and materials, coordinating with the Centre Lead for necessary upgrades or replacements.
Collaborate with BRAC Advocacy and Communications units to promote social inclusion and advocate for disadvantaged groups in skills development programs.
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
