Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
A minimum of five years of successful experience in the development sector.
Demonstrated expertise in mobilizing women and youth.
Strong understanding of the political context in Bangladesh.
Proficiency in both written and oral communication in English and Bangla.
Established relationships and familiarity with political party leaders (preferred).
Prior experience working on USAID projects (an advantage).
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Advanced proficiency in ICT tools, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and online research.

Job Summary:
The USAID-funded Strengthening Political Landscape (SPL) program in Bangladesh, implemented by Democracy International (DI), is designed to improve the capacity of political parties to operate effectively and democratically, improve the environment for meaningful collaboration between political parties and politically active citizen organizations, and improve democratic attitudes and reduce conflict in the political parties to help strengthen the political landscape in Bangladesh.
The Program Officer for Women & Youth Empowerment will be responsible for assisting in designing, implementing, and monitoring programs aimed at empowering women and youth within political parties. This role involves working closely with the team members of the W&Y empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop programs aimed at empowering women and youth in the political landscape of Bangladesh.
Organize and lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to program activities.
Oversee the preparation of contracts, agreements, and administrative/financial documentation for program implementation.
Maintain and update monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program impact.
Prepare comprehensive reports, including event summaries, monthly, quarterly, and annual updates.
Assist in creating budgets, activity plans, and concept notes.
Establish and nurture relationships with stakeholders, including political leaders, to advance program objectives.
Provide technical and substantive support for the effective implementation of women and youth empowerment plans.
Collaborate with team members and other components to ensure seamless program execution.
Maintain an organized filing system for project documents, work plans, and budgets in line with organizational standards.
Conduct regular field visits to oversee program activities.
Serve as an interpreter for expatriate colleagues during events and meetings when required.
Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, DCOP, or COP.
