Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
  • MBBS and MD /FCPS / MRCP (recognized by BMDC) in related field. Candidate having postgraduation will get preference. Or having 2 years’ diploma will get with 1 year experience after completion of diploma. (For Specialist) or

  • MBBS and MD /FCPS / MRCP-Part 1 / Phase A completed (recognized by BMDC) with 5 year experience in relevant field or 2 years’ diploma in relevant field. Candidate having post graduation will get preference. (For Registrar)

Responsibilities & Context

  • Conduct rounds with consultants and manage post-round tasks, including follow-ups on investigations.

  • Review discharge summaries prepared by junior doctors.

  • Perform morning and evening follow-ups on patients prior to consultant rounds.

  • Report to the Coordinator on clinical and administrative issues.

  • Assess and admit patients independently after consulting with senior staff.

  • Complete a thorough review of patient history and physical examination within the first 24 hours of admission.

  • Continuously monitor patient progress, adjust management plans, and handle medical emergencies in coordination with the consultant.

  • Effective counseling to the patient's attendants.

  • Takes an active role to ensure ICU & HDU roster is covered and planned, including balancing skill mix and providing coverage of time

  • The duty hours for this position will be in accordance with HR policy.

  • Competence of analyzing the results of basic blood serology and radiology investigations and make basic management decisions in ICU & HDU patients in consultation with consultants.

  • Maintain good communication with supporting staffs, colleagues and seniors.·

  • To take and give written handover at the bedside at the beginning and end of the duty shift.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital practices to maintain the safest environment for patients and staff.

  • Attend clinical meetings and workshops, and actively participate in presentations.

  • Participate in hospital training programs and pursue ongoing knowledge and skill development.

  • For New Admissions: Review patient history, lab results, and current medications prior to the consultant's visit.

  • For Referral Patients: Manage referred patients under consultant supervision.

  • For Discharges: Ensure accuracy of discharge summaries, including diagnoses and medications, under consultant oversight.

  • General: Oversee and monitor junior doctors, and assist in patient counseling under consultant supervision.
