Requirements

Education
  • Master of Commerce (MCom)
Experience
  • At least 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    NGO
Additional Requirements
  • Age 30 to 45 years
  • Ability to ensure budgetary control

  • Familiar with soft-ware based accounting system

  • Has knowledge on VAT/Tax compliance

  • Strong critical and analytical thinking capabilities

  • Computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Respect on gender, PSEA, Safeguarding, code of conduct and cultural diversity

  • Committed on response in any humanitarian emergency if necessary

  • Able to drive a motorbike with valid motorbike driving license

  • Able to operate virtual platform like Skype/Zoom/Team etc.


Responsibilities & Context

  • The Finance and Admin Officer (FAO) is overall responsible for cash and ledger book, expenditure statement, preparing financial reports, bank ledger/statement.

  • He/She should ensure that the expenditures are being made as per financial policies and procedures.Should explore possessing skill in problem identification, problem solving and decision-making.

  • He/she will also maintain good communication and linkage related to financial issues with FAO, and will closely work with PC and Focal person of Shushilan

  • Preparation of program budget guidelines in consultation with the program management staff.

  • Ensure payment of salary to the staff

  • Ensure payment to suppliers on time

  • Able to maintain software based accounting system (Tally)Maintain records of fixed assets

  • Provide logistics support during training, meeting, workshop etc.

  • Maintain and check the log books of the motorcycles

  • Ensure security of the assets and office

  • Tracking of fund status for proper reporting and ensuring timely fund requests

  • Overall responsibility on resource allocation and Budget execution.

  • Certify & review monthly/quarterly expenditure report

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of the financial reports.

  • Ensure update the books of accounts on a regular basis.

  • Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act of the government of Bangladesh 

  • Ensure compliance with VAT Act of the government of Bangladesh

  • All kind of positive motivation to support and response in emergency

  • In addition to that any other duties and responsibilities may assigned by the authority / organization which need to be carried out
