Requirements

Education
  • Masters

Master's degree in any discipline from any reputed university preferably in Ag (Hons.) with M. Sc. in Agriculture.

Experience
  • At least 10 years
Additional Requirements

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in national or international organizations in implementing similar projects.

  • Should have 5 years of experience on managing, coordinating and implementing field level activities on food security, livelihood, DRR, and market development in the humanitarian response.

Technical Skills

  • Skill of photography

  • Must have professional writing and speaking capacity in English and Bangla, i.e. monitoring report, field visit report, event report, case study/story, press release, content writing, etc.

  • Proficient with MS office suite

  • Able to take decision in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly

Job Summary

PROTTYASHI, a social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment with an aim to ensure everyone to live with dignity and prosperity. PROTTYASHI reaches the community with basic needs and supports to save lives and facilitate all the people of the community to live with equal value and priority. PROTTYASHI works for the disadvantaged portion of the population in community addressing their pressing needs following the strategies contextually viable and environmentally sustainable. PROTTYASHI has been actively supporting the refugee population in the humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar as one of the first responders since August 2017. PROTTYASHI has been vigilantly supporting these crises affected population to accomplish its promised commitment towards humanity and people in distress.

To ensure improved food security for the refugee population helping them to meet nutritional requirement in an environmentally sustainable manner, PROTTYASHI is going to implement “Green skills Development” Activity of WFP Cox’s Bazar Resilience Programme in selected refugee camps. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Project Manager for the Project and encourages the persons enthusiastic to contribute to the increased resilience of the humanitarian crisis affected refugee population in Bangladesh. This position will be acting as the Lead of project being responsible for timely implementation of the planned interventions of the project managing coordination and collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, internal and/or external to the organization.

Reporting

Project Manager will report to Program Manager of PROTTYASHI. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Responsible to oversee all project activities in Rohingya communities and be the main contact point for the project, government and other stakeholders.

  • Ensuring programme management and financial management functioning collaboratively and in compliance with accepted standards.

  • Ensure timely implementation of the project activities as defined by the workplan.

  • Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, and mentoring, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes etc.

  • Assist to the project team and other stakeholders define, communicate and drive the strategic vision and goal of the programme

  • Troubleshoot project problems, launch initiatives to reduce operational costs and defects, identify and implement creative solution for smooth project management

  • Supervise all the other project staffs including volunteers through maintaining regular communication with the project staffs and conducting regular field visit.

  • Provide support and monitor the implementation of project activities according to the workplan and scheduled timeline.

  • Coaching, mentoring, guiding and accompanying to the respective project team members.

  • Monitor project activities through regular visit in the field to ensure quality of the project deliverables and mobilize the field staffs.

  • Provide technical support to the direct beneficiaries in case of arising any complication in the field.

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Coordination

  • Maintain liaison with the WFP and PROTTYASHI Head Office for successful implementation of the project activities.

  • Maintain coordination with food security sector to ensure timely sectoral reporting, progress sharing and strategy setting.

  • Planning, initiating and reviewing external communication to promote project activities on various platforms.

  • Preparing presentation for the meetings and issues for the various level of coordination meetings and workshops.

  • Attend sectoral meeting at the camp level and at Cox’s Bazar level and represent organization with the organization’s accomplishments.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly progress report with the cooperation of other project staffs and submit to the Director (Program) of PROTTYASHI.

  • Assist Finance and Accounts Officer to prepare monthly financial report through matching activities implemented.

  • Prepare document of all events, program learning, process, and impacts of project should be sent to the central program team.

  • Collect field level evidence of project activities through photographs and send it to the central monitoring team of PROTTYASHI.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 122,148 BDT with contributory provident fund 6,185BDT, monthly bonus 11,667BDT and regular traveling and communication bill.
