Job Summary:
The Merchandising Manager for Knit, Woven, and Sweater is responsible for managing the entire merchandising cycle, from product development to shipment. This role requires strong coordination between buyers, suppliers, and internal production teams to ensure timely order execution while maintaining high-quality standards and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Buyer & Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with buyers, international brands, and local agents.
- Understand buyer requirements and ensure expectations are met throughout production.
- Negotiate prices, order quantities, and delivery schedules to maximize profitability.
- Product Development & Sampling:
- Work closely with the design, R&D, and production teams to develop new knit, woven, and sweater products.
- Oversee sample development, approvals, and adjustments as per buyer feedback.
- Ensure product designs align with buyer specifications and market trends.
- Order Management & Execution:
- Receive and confirm orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Issue purchase orders for raw materials such as yarn, fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Track order progress, ensuring production meets deadlines and quality standards.
- Solve any issues related to production delays, materials, or quality concerns.
- Supplier & Factory Coordination:
- Manage relationships with fabric mills, dyeing houses, and accessory suppliers.
- Ensure the procurement of high-quality raw materials at competitive prices.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to maintain efficiency and compliance.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure production meets buyer-specified quality control and compliance standards.
- Work closely with QA teams to conduct in-line and final inspections.
- Implement corrective measures for any quality-related issues.
- Shipment & Documentation:
- Ensure timely shipment by coordinating with logistics and shipping teams.
- Oversee preparation of required documents (packing list, invoices, Bill of Lading, etc.).
- Track shipping schedules and update buyers accordingly.
- Costing & Profitability Analysis:
- Conduct detailed costing for knit, woven, and sweater orders, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Ensure profitability by optimizing cost structures while maintaining quality.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and buyers to achieve the best financial outcomes.
