Requirements

Education
  • Master’s degree in Development Studies, International Relations, International Business, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience
  • 5 to 7 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):

Additional Requirements
  • Age at most 45 years
  • Minimum of [5-7] years of experience in resource acquisition, fundraising, or business development within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of donor dynamics, fundraising strategies, and grant management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of the development sector, current trends in philanthropy, and funding mechanisms.

Responsibilities & Context

HEED Bangladesh (Health, Education and Economic Development) is a non-profitable, non-political and non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to participate and promote national development through upgrading the socio-economic condition of the disadvantaged and underprivileged people in the society for more than 49 (forty-nine) years. HEED Bangladesh is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Manager-Operations under Department of Operations.

Manager Operations, will play a crucial role in identifying and securing new funding opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and developing high-quality proposals that align with organizational goals. This position mainly focusses on Resource Acquisition and Business Development. This individual will also ensure the effective implementation of partnership strategies and maintain ongoing communication with donors and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Resource Acquisition:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive resource acquisition strategy, focusing on securing funding from institutional donors, foundations, individual philanthropists, and corporate partners.
  • Manage the preparation of proposals, funding applications, and grants.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities through grants, donations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and research potential funding sources (grants, foundations, , corporate, etc.)
  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals in response to funding opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal HEED teams (Operations Team) to gather necessary information and insights for proposal writing
  • Monitor grant reporting requirements and ensure timely submission of progress reports and financial updates
  • Manage and track partnership and grant performance metrics
  • Provide strategic input into the development and execution of partnership strategies
  • Stay informed of funding trends and opportunities in the sector
  • Prepare presentations and other communication materials for donor meetings

Business Development & Strategy:

  • Create and execute strategies for expanding the HEED’s visibility and impact.
  • Lead business development initiatives to identify potential partners, collaborations, and opportunities for organizational growth.
  • Develop new programs and partnerships to strengthen the organization’s mission and financial base.
  • Monitor trends in the non-profit sector to identify innovative funding models and resource opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management:

  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams to align resource needs with project goals and objectives.
  • Develop relationships with donors, foundations, government agencies, and development partners.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and with potential funders to promote its mission and programs.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure proper reporting and tracking of resources and funds in accordance with donor requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor relationships and financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with donor agreements and NGO regulations related to resource acquisition.
