Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Additional certifications or training in pattern making, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, or garment construction would be an advantage.
8–10 years of experience in apparel sampling, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
Hands-on experience in pattern making, fabric consumption, and sample approvals.
Proven track record in coordinating with design, merchandising, and production teams to meet sample deadlines.
Excellent leadership qualities, proven ability to motivate and bring out the best in people.
Strong planning and organizational abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to maintain high productivity under tight deadlines.
Ability to present sample-related insights and recommendations clearly and confidently.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships to work as a team

Job Context
The Manager - Sampling is responsible for overseeing and guiding the Sampling team, ensuring the efficient organization of resources and production processes to achieve maximum output while optimizing production costs. The role involves evaluating and approving all sampling at various stages, including development, fitting, adjustments, quality assurance, and final approval, ensuring adherence to the highest standards.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct handover meeting in the presence of garment technology team, Design team, CAD team, relevant Business Unit’s merchandising team.
Gather and thoroughly review tech packs and measurement specification sheets received from customers, coordinating effectively with relevant business units and cross-functional teams.
Provide expertise and knowledge to improve the tech pack and design format for a better assembled product. Need to work closely with design team to ensure the initial sample is perfect for fit/aesthetic.
Discuss and decide effective timeline by analyzing respective orders with the availability of workforce and garment materials to deliver products on time maintaining customer goodwill.
Conduct risk assessments during the handover meeting where necessary.
Work with team to ensure that fabrics, thread and trimmings are available according to style to produce the sample garment order.
Acquire information about fabrics and accessories where they are not provided by the customer, to generate sourcing from the market.
Maintain and overview accurate inventory and sourcing of raw materials.
Monitor CAD team to check whether measurement spec sheet is followed thoroughly.
Work closely with the CAD team to ensure to keep the master pattern library for all the sampling.
Optimize the layout of pattern pieces to minimize material waste while applying accurate grading techniques to ensure precise measurements.
Work closely with the CAD team to ensure to achieve shape of the garment.
Plan and assign Sampling team to execute the sample order from cutting to finished assembled garments.
Set production target for each sample operator at every component of the sampling process.
Identify and apply the most suitable processes to solve manufacturing problems.
Always ensure resource availability and allocation.
Establish and apply the standard of fitness and construction from concept to bulk production.
Ensure application and maintenance of safety practice during the process of cutting, sewing and pressing using heavy machineries.
Ensure maximum utilization of production capacity and waste reduction.
Implement and supervise discipline on the Sampling floor for smooth production process.
Ensure quality compliance with ZXY standards.
