Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s in Business Administration; preferably in Accounting or Finance.

Experience
  • At least 3 years
Additional Requirements
  • Expertise in creating, managing, and monitoring budgets and financial obligations for NGO programs.

  • Experience in partnership and grants management.

  • Preferred background in Development, Social Rights, Human Rights, or Gender Rights.

  • Comfortable using technology such as Teams, Skype, and Google Sheets for liaising with international partners and donors.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.

  • Capability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and manage workload efficiently.

  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills (internal and external).

  • Adaptability to work collaboratively within a team and adjust as needed.

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in accounting, budget management, and tracking financial compliance for programs/projects, grants management, including internal processes, NGO Bureau requirements, and donor regulations.


Responsibilities & Context

Job Purpose: Support SELP’s financial management by assisting in the preparation, monitoring, and submission of budgets, financial reports, sub-contracts, Memorandum of Understanding, and NGO Bureau-related documentation. Ensure quality control of sub-grantee reports and compliance with audit requirements in coordination with BRAC’s central Finance and Accounts, and GRP team. Providing oversight in managing SELP finances to ensure smooth operations and drive the program's success in achieving its goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and managing the SELP annual budget, including forecasts and reports, donor budget, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and timelines.

  • Monitor budgets, identify shortfalls or surpluses, and provide updates to the SELP management while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for donors and sub-grantees.

  • Act as the focal point for communication with BRAC’s Finance, Accounts, and Grants departments, ensuring smooth coordination and compliance with financial policies.

  • Facilitate quality financial reporting from field offices and sub-grantees, ensuring timely submission of donor reports.

  • Assist in resolving financial issues raised during audits and monitoring, ensuring compliance with BRAC’s policies.

  • Support the oversight of external contracts, MoUs, and agreements, ensuring timely updates and compliance.

  • Collaborate with the Admin Officer on procurement, transport, and maintenance needs, contributing to annual procurement plans.

  • Participate in internal meetings related to strategy, budget, and audits, providing input on financial matters.

  • Ensure team safety and promote safeguarding policies, serving as a resource for staff capacity building on financial procedures and safeguarding standards.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
