Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

Bachelor in Accounting/ Finance or any related subject. CA (CC and Application level passed) or ACCA (passed at least 5 papers) will get a preference

Experience
  • At least 3 years

  • Strong knowledge of Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Tax, and VAT.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

  • Sincere, polite, and dynamic attitude, with a team-player mindset and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent communication skills in both Bengali and English, with the capacity to convey financial information clearly and effectively.

  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including advanced skills in financial software, ERP systems, and MS Office applications.

  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

  • Commitment to continuous learning, staying updated on changes in financial regulations, tax laws, and industry best practices.

  • Minimum three years (03) of demonstrated experience in Accounts / Finance / Audit. Preferable experience in the following sector (s): NGO / INGO / Corporate / Government Organizations / Financial Development Agencies


Responsibilities & Context

Job Purpose: The position will ensure accurate financial management and reporting by preparing project accounts, Budget vs. Actual (BvA) reports, and financial statements. This role will maintain the Chart of Accounts, adhere to accounting principles and practices, and ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position will support budget preparation, validate financial details during project proposals, and contribute to annual financial planning, enabling the effective execution and monitoring of organizational projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual project accounts by ensuring statutory and management reporting compliance with HR policies and financial standards.

  • Support and manage project budgeting processes by revising and uploading budgets in ERP systems and reviewing donor proposals and agreements to ensure adequate financial controls.

  • Oversee and reconcile project funds by ensuring timely reconciliation of receivables and payables and maintaining accurate fixed asset schedules for effective financial tracking.

  • Develop and share donor reports, fund requests, and budget variance analyses by collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial communication.

  • Provide compliance oversight and support external and internal audits to ensure adherence to NGOAB regulations, donor agreements, and Tax and VAT requirements.

  • Process and review monthly adjustment journal vouchers, including depreciation, salary allocations, and cost transfers, to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

  • Collaborate with programme personnel and stakeholders to ensure effective financial management and enhance reporting accuracy for assigned projects.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
