Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s and Master’s in relevant field

  • CA (CC) required

Experience
  • At least 15 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Garments, Textile, Group of Companies
Additional Requirements
  • Working as Head of Department for at least 5 years.

  • Communication skills in both English and Bengali in verbal and written platforms.

  • Well conversant with computer and ERP software

Responsibilities & Context

  • The General Manager / Head of Accounts holds a crucial role within the organization; and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the total Accounts operation and cost management.

  • This role is responsible for ensuring effective accounts maintenance, analysis, reporting, and cost control to support the organization's financial goals and objectives by providing strategic guidance, managing costs, and ensuring effective accounts management practices.

Cost Management:

  • Developing and implementing cost control strategies to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.

  • Analyzing and tracking costs across different functions and departments, identifying areas for cost reduction or improvement.

  • Providing cost estimates and analysis for new projects, products, or initiatives.

Budget Oversight:

  • Managing the budgeting process, including coordination with various departments to gather input and ensure alignment with financial goals.

  • Monitoring budget performance, identifying deviations, and recommending corrective actions as needed.

  • Providing analytical insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.

Risk Management:

  • Assessing financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, such as currency exchange rate risks or commodity price fluctuations.

  • Implementing internal controls and compliance measures to safeguard financial assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and senior executives, to provide financial insights and facilitate informed decision-making. Manage the internal accounting team under own authority.

  • Interacting with external stakeholders, such as auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements in costing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Upholding ethical standards in accounting practices and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Miscellaneous: Perform any other assignment as assigned by the Management.
