Job Summary:
The GM/DGM – Marketing (Knit, Woven & Sweater) is responsible for leading the marketing team, developing business strategies, and driving sales growth by securing new buyers and expanding relationships with existing clients. The role requires a strong understanding of knit, woven, and sweater manufacturing, market trends, and buyer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Buyer Management:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with international buyers, brands, and retailers.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure long-term collaboration.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, order quantities, and delivery timelines with buyers.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase order volumes and expand the company’s customer base.
- Sales & Order Management:
- Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets for knit, woven, and sweater garments.
- Oversee order placement, follow-up, and execution to ensure timely shipments.
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure smooth order execution.
- Market Research & Trend Analysis:
- Conduct market research to understand global apparel trends, buyer preferences, and competitive pricing.
- Develop innovative marketing strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
- Analyze seasonal demand fluctuations and advise the production team on planning accordingly.
- Product Development & Sampling Coordination:
- Work closely with the R&D and design teams to develop new products that align with market trends.
- Ensure that product samples meet buyer requirements before mass production.
- Oversee the approval process for samples and prototypes with clients.
- Costing & Pricing Strategy:
- Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies for knit, woven, and sweater products.
- Analyze costing breakdowns, considering raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Negotiate profitable pricing structures with buyers while maintaining product quality.
- Marketing & Branding Strategy:
- Lead digital and traditional marketing initiatives to promote the company’s brand.
- Represent the company at international trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer meetings.
- Develop marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and online content.
- Factory & Supply Chain Coordination:
- Work closely with production, supply chain, and merchandising teams to ensure order feasibility.
- Address production challenges, including capacity planning, raw material availability, and lead time management.
- Ensure that buyers’ quality and compliance standards are met throughout production.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Build, mentor, and manage a strong marketing and sales team.
- Set clear KPIs and performance targets for team members.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team skills in negotiation, market analysis, and client management.
