Requirements

Education
  • MSc in Biochemistry /Microbiology/Molecular Biology from a recognized & reputed University.

Experience
  • 5 to 7 years
Additional Requirements

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., CAP, ISO).

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Job Purpose:

The Laboratory Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless functioning of a diagnostic lab.

They oversee daily operations to maintain efficiency, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and uphold the delivery of high-quality services. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and drive continuous improvement. Success is measured by operational efficiency, adherence to quality standards, and consistent, reliable service delivery.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily laboratory activities, including sample processing, reporting, and equipment maintenance.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations.

Staff Management

  • Supervise and manage lab personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards among staff.

Compliance and Audits

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., ISO, CLIA, CAP).

Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare for and manage external inspections and certifications.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Manage the lab’s budget, including procurement of supplies and equipment.
  • Optimize resource allocation to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Technology and Innovation

  • Stay updated on advancements in diagnostic technologies and recommend implementation as needed.
  • Oversee the integration and maintenance of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).

Customer and Client Relations

  • Address client inquiries and concerns to ensure satisfaction and trust.
  • Maintain effective communication with physicians, clinics, and hospitals.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
  • Generate detailed reports for internal review and external stakeholders.
